A long time ago we moved to into our apartment. It's been a little over 3 years. We used to take walks together by the river before Henry was born, hoping I'd go into labor, or just to explore. I spend a lot of time at Cooper River and I enjoy it so much. I love living right next to water. It feels like home to me.
Anyway, so there are these two giant oak trees out by the river who we named Butch and Cassidy. Another little tree is right next to them who we named Sundance. (Get it?? :)) I have always talked about doing a little dinner party out beneath the trees and I don't really know why it's taken me so long. I mean, it wasn't a ton of work and it's like a 3 minute walk from our front door. Whatever... Tonight we had the dinner. It was super fun and now I wish we had them every weekend out there.
I sent out some invitations last week (just simple ones on thick kraft paper from Paper Source) because invitations make life more fun. I promised a Georgia bbq underneath our favorite trees. And that is exactly what we had!
Barbecue pork sandwiches, coleslaw, corn on the cob, and peach cobbler for dessert. I found $1 Lorina drinks randomly at Christmas Tree Shops one day. Love those. I also found a $3 mum at a local produce place that was calling my name. My friend Michaela came early to help me set up the table and then we all walked over together from our place with all the food and kiddos.
I'm sad to say that I don't have good pictures of Kevin, Joe, Eric, or Margot. Martin makes it in one shot barely. And I was there, too! So were 10, 000 gnats. That's always fun.
Anyway, so tonight was super fun and I'm really going to miss living here. I LOVE it here. Too bad the apartment is just not the place we want to live for the rest of our lives. I'll miss living right on the river and having a huge green space to run around in all the time. I'm missing it already. Good thing we're only moving a mile away. Hahaha! Oh dear.
Andy and Inna, our gems...
Michaela, one of my bests...
My friend Kerry (in the background... one of the other bests) and her adorable daughter Charlotte, Henry, and sweet Martin...
Cutie pie Margot tries her Daddy's colesaw...
The always classy Kerry... fun fact: she and Michaela are due to have babies on the same day!
There's Cassidy in the background of this one... the ole gal
Henry had some positive peer pressure tonight regarding the food. Char and Margot (two of his faves) were both eating bbq pork sandwiches, so he had to do it, too... My boy is growing up right before my eyes!
This picture makes me tear up. Look at him! He's so big! Eating a pork sandwich! And being so adorable!
Every time I asked Andy if he wanted to hold Martin he would say, "Ehhh... sure..." Andy and Inna aren't around babies all that often (besides ours) and I think they kind of scare him. Luckily Martin is pretty harmless. Or maybe not judging by the look on Andy's face.
Martin rocking the Ray Bans. (I quickly snatched them off because babies should not be allowed to touch expensive things.)
And last but not least... a picture of Michaela as she was telling me about a great livingsocial deal. She is passionate, people!
