On Saturday Kevin, Henry, and I headed down to DC to visit my brother Jess who was in town for some work stuff. I couldn't have been more excited to see my brother!! He lives in Thailand and I don't remember the last time we got to see them. We missed Dannii and Gunnar so much. Soon they'll be living back in DC, so that is the best news ever!
We tried to spend as little money as possible when we went down, so we went to two museums (both free) (and thanks, Hannah, for recommendations!!) and had a great time talking and hanging out. Henry was in heaven at the Building Museum, running around with another 50 kids near the fountain. He and this little girl became best friends really fast. It was adorable.
All of the special exhibits cost money, so we had a great time just wandering and looking around.
Getting a picture together was a bit of a joke, and the sun was soooo bright that we look real awesome. I also think it may be time to start wearing maternity clothes. Mmm, Whatchya say?
After the Building Museum, we headed to China town and then realized it was probably too cold to just stroll around. We went to the Portrait Museum and Henry fell asleep within 5 minutes of being there. Awesome! So we got to look around without CrazyHenry. After about an hour, my back was pretty much done, so Henry and I picked a spot and I layed on a bench while he napped in his stroller. Jess and Kevin walked around some more. Henry woke up as we were leaving.
After the Portrait Museum, we were all starving (we did have pb&j sandwiches made by my lovely husband earlier, but that wasn't doing it for us) so we went to some shady-looking Chinese place. Perfect. And delicious, of course.
Henry was surprisingly good the entire day, but was getting about to his limit when we were at lunch/dinner. Here he is playing with sugar packets with gloves on that hewouldnottakeoff.
Boys talking about boyish things, probably. We also planned a potential end-of-summer vacation that I'm completely excited about.
Jess loves Henry lots and that makes me really happy. I wish I was able to love on little Gunnar.
And here is probably the most unattractive, but probably close to how we look in real life, picture of the day! Awesome. We had an amazing time and it was soooo nice to be with my family! I miss being around family and got really sad and cried when we had to leave. I told Jess later that I'm happy eternity is a long time because I love my family so so much. Amen.
